E. Wes Dempster, Grip, RoboCop (1987)

Wes Dempster worked as a grip or dolly grip for multiple films.
He was born in Baton Rouge, LA. on November 1, 1947. Wes attended Phoenix College in Phoenix, AZ. before enlisting in the military. He served in the US Air Force as a combat motion picture cameraman in Vietnam with the 600th Photo Squadron. Wes was awarded Department of Defense Combat Newsfilm Photographer of the Year in 1972.
Wes died on November 6, 2015 from a degenerative brain condition in Waco, TX. at the age of 68.

  1. Wes Dempster and I were friends at Camelback High school in Phoenix. Spent our summers cruising the main drag in muscle cars and chasing girls! Double dated Camelback girls often together. He was a wonderful young man...persona was an image innocence for the times in the 60's. I had searched the internet over the long years since then out of curiosity of how his life was going. I'm sad that the only place I was successful was for this obituary. He went Air Force and I went Navy Submarine Duty...so avoided the war unlike Wes. Rest easy, Wes. Perhaps we'll meet again some day. Glad he created a niche for himself and appears did that vey well indeed...taken from that way too soon.
